Inner Bore Laser Cladding | Internal Surface Repair
Specialised process designed to clad or repair the inside surfaces of cylinders, pipes, and other bore components — restoring worn internal diameters with precision and minimal heat input.
What is Inner Bore Laser Cladding?
Inner bore laser cladding applies the same precision laser metal deposition process to the internal surfaces of components. A specially configured laser head is inserted into the bore, delivering a metallurgically bonded, wear-resistant overlay onto the inside diameter.
This restores worn, eroded, or corroded internal surfaces to their original dimensions — eliminating the cost and complexity of sleeving, line boring, or complete component replacement.
The result is a uniform, dense overlay with excellent metallurgical bonding, controlled dilution, and a minimal heat-affected zone, even in deep, hard-to-reach bores.

Why Inner Bore Laser Cladding Wins
Uniform Coating Along the Bore
Consistent layer thickness and material properties across the full bore length, including deep and inaccessible zones.
Restoration Without Sleeving
Rebuild worn internal diameters to OEM specification, eliminating the need for bushings, liners, or full replacement.
Low Dilution & Minimal HAZ
Precise energy control keeps dilution at 0.5–2% with a narrow heat-affected zone that preserves the substrate.
Superior Metallurgical Bond
Fully dense, metallurgically bonded overlay resists abrasion, erosion, and corrosion — no delamination or porosity.
Faster Than Conventional Repair
High deposition efficiency reduces repair time compared with TIG welding or sleeving on difficult-to-reach surfaces.
Broad Material Compatibility
Clads cylinders, pipes, and housings in steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys with a wide range of wear-resistant alloys.
