Laser Hardening Services | Precision Surface Hardening
Surface hardening with unmatched precision and negligible distortion. Ideal for complex geometries, selective zones, and parts that cannot tolerate thermal deformation.
What is Laser Hardening?
Laser hardening is a solid-state thermal process where a high-power laser beam rapidly heats a metal surface beyond its austenitizing temperature. The surrounding cold mass then acts as a heat sink, causing ultra-rapid self-quenching that transforms the austenite into hard martensite.
Unlike conventional case hardening methods (flame, induction, carburizing), laser hardening applies heat with extreme spatial precision and at high speed — producing a controlled hardened zone without affecting adjacent geometry.
The result: maximum surface hardness with a tough core, no quench media, no distortion, and direct-to-finish in many cases.

Precision Hardening Benefits
Negligible Distortion
Extremely low heat input. Minimal thermal stress means complex precision parts remain in tolerance.
Selective Hardening
Treat only the exact surfaces that need it — no masking, no full-part thermal exposure.
Precise Case Depth
Hardened zones of 0.5–2 mm depth, controlled to ±0.1 mm via parametric programming.
Fatigue Life Improvement
Compressive residual stresses in the hardened layer significantly enhance fatigue resistance.
No Post-Quench Required
Self-quenching effect — the surrounding metal conducts heat away instantly, eliminating quench media.
Uniform & Consistent Hardness
Consistent 45–65 HRC across the hardened zone on medium and high-carbon steels and cast irons.
